You are invited to attend the following STEP Cayman breakfast seminar, which will be broadcast at the George Town Yacht Club via Zoom:

Offshore Trusts and UK Tax

Jonathan Colclough, a partner in BDB Pitmans’ private wealth team based in London, will provide an update on how UK tax applies in relation to an offshore trust with a UK connection. Jonathan’s presentation will cover the importance of domicile when creating a trust, and will look at a real life example of how the new rules apply where a formerly UK domiciled settlor returns to the UK.

The session will look at the UK tax consequences of holding UK situs assets directly and through an offshore company, trust to trust transfers, adding funds to trusts, and issues arising where there is at least one UK resident beneficiary.

The session will also cover capital gains tax returns and payments on account for non-UK residents, SDLT for non-UK residents, and an update on the UK trust register.

A light breakfast will be provided at the seminar by BDB Pitmans.
